The Tirana Administrative Court has drawn lots for the lawsuit filed by Mayor Erjon Veliaj against the Presidency and prosecutor Ols Dado.

The draw selected administrative judge Hazbi Balliu to review the lawsuit. Veliaj requested the invalidity of the decree appointing special prosecutor Ols Dado, claiming that he had not attended the Magistrates' School.

According to Veliaj, the appointment of Ols Dado in 2008 was carried out in flagrant violation of the law, as he was allegedly appointed prosecutor without completing the Magistrate's School, a necessary legal criterion for exercising this function.

Veliaj emphasizes that Dado moved from the status of notary directly to that of prosecutor, without fulfilling the conditions provided for by the legislation in force at the time.

The lawsuit states that this illegal appointment has brought serious institutional and administrative consequences, not only for the Municipality of Tirana, but also for the Republic of Albania as a whole.

According to the mayor, the actions taken by Dado in the exercise of his function as prosecutor have directly impacted processes related to local administration and public interest.
