Protesters have begun gathering in front of the Prime Minister's Office, as part of the 23rd protest against the government, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the formation of a caretaker government.
The protesters have articulated strong political demands, considering the prime minister's resignation as non-negotiable. According to them, the protests represent a broader social movement that is not tied to a single organizational structure.
One of the protesters stated that the country is facing a dire social and economic situation, citing low wages and high prices, and accusing the government of a "depopulation agenda."
He also referred to cases of criminal penalties against former officials in Spain, demanding that justice in Albania act similarly against senior officials if violations are proven.
"Resignation and technical government. If this government does not react, there will be escalation and this is decided by the sovereign, the people," the protester said, warning of an increase in the intensity of the protests.
Meanwhile, another citizen stated that the protest does not have a single organizer, but is a broad civic movement, which according to her demands the removal of the prime minister due to, as she put it, the "autocratic system" created in the country.
She emphasized that the main demand of the protest remains the resignation of the Prime Minister and that the participants will not withdraw without the realization of this demand.
