The new law "On the protection of personal data" prohibits political parties from using the data of Albanians. Starting from the scandal of the "Partonazists" with the regulation of the new law, political parties no longer have the "pleasure" of using the data, except for their members.
"Provided that appropriate measures are implemented to protect the fundamental rights and interests of data subjects, the processing of sensitive data is allowed in cases where: it is necessary for the legal activity of non-profit political, philosophical, religious and trade union organizations , provided that the processing is only related to the members or former members of the organization or to persons who have regular contact with it within the framework of its activity, as well as that the personal data are not spread outside the organization without the consent of the subjects of data", it is stated in article 9, point 2 letter de of the draft law.
We remind you that the database of " patronazis " was published shortly before the elections of April 25, 2021 and contained the stolen data ( ID number, mobile number, contacts ) of 910 thousand voters in the country.
The leak of personal data of 910 thousand citizens of Tirana turned out to be only the tip of the iceberg. During the last three days, databases with personal, sensitive data and salaries of over 700 thousand Albanians as well as vehicle license plates have been circulating on the phones of thousands of Albanian citizens.
