The leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has congratulated Christian believers on the occasion of Christmas.

From his prison cell, where he is being held on remand on several charges, Meta shared the message on his social networks.

"May the blessings and warmth of God's love always be with you, in every Albanian family and especially with all those who today face poverty, illness and injustice," Meta wrote, among other things.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all Christian believers and the entire Albanian people!

Christmas is the birth of hope and peace, the power of divine light over darkness, and confirmation of God's love for humanity.
