Inflation is easing, but this is not being translated into citizens' pockets. On the contrary, they dread the labels of foods such as fruits and vegetables every day.
"They connect the situation with oil or the crisis in Ukraine, the prices rose there, they rose and here, the price of oil fell there, but here the other prices do not change anymore, they go down a few values ??below", says a citizen .
The most affected by this situation are pensioners who, even with the annual pension indexation, but also the bonuses given by the government, cannot afford the high prices.
"We will not buy less, but we will be forced to another product by not buying it."
"They increased the pension on the other hand, they raise the prices of fruits and vegetables more."
Among the most expensive products are dairy and meat, which citizens say they are forced to consume less of.
"Vegetables are reduced now that there is more production, but everything is still not understood, but one thing does not change easily here. Cheese 1 kg, 1400 lek, imagine getting half a kilo for 750 lek, very expensive, we get it by dropper."
On the other hand, with the arrival of the summer season, traders talk about an improvement in prices as local products are expected to supply a good part of the markets.
"Compared to a month ago, the prices are half for half. If you compare how much the tomato was 300 Greek and Italian Lek, now it is 150 Lek. It is the time of the season when the country has as much produce as you want and the prices are reduced."
The food group continues to remain one of the main influencers on inflation, burdening family budgets with 4 thousand to 6 thousand ALL more every month./A2
