Sali Berisha held a meeting this afternoon with the DP structures, where the focus was on "Security and Order" in the country.

During his speech, the leading democrat Berisha accused the Minister of Interior, Ervin Hoxha, whom he claims has imposed fines on the State Police, adding that "in every task he has functioned as a true delinquent."

The accusation has also been leveled against the Director General of the State Police, Ilir Proda, who he said that according to Berisha, is a close collaborator of the most dangerous gangs in Albania, those in Elbasan. Referring to Berisha, Proda's phone with criminal communications is in the hands of the Prosecution.

However, the leading democrat adds that "Proda's phone seized by the justice system is being used to hold him hostage and misused, firstly, against the mission of the State Police and then in the function of the party-state."

Sali Berisha: The history of the criminalization of the leading pyramid of the State Police and the police as a whole is the great drama of an institution vital to the law, the security of life and property of Albanian citizens, for which Albanians had invested years and decades. The international community had forged an admirable cooperation with this institution. One after another, the ministers who came after the first gangster and trafficker Tahiri were no less traffickers and delinquents than him, from the first to the last. They are known to the public. But what can I say about the latter? This is the minister with three surnames and several villas. This has been a disgusting fine collector in the Traffic Police, and in every task he has functioned as a real delinquent.

The current director Proda, a close associate of the most dangerous gangs in Albania, those in Elbasan, still has his phone in the hands of the prosecution today, because his criminal communications are already known, but of course the party's Skapi is also behind the accusation, so it is being used. His phone, seized by the justice system, is being used to take him hostage to use and misuse it, first against the mission of the State Police and then in the function of the party-state.

Berisha says that the last 10 years have been the darkest period for the Police, as according to him, the state has become one with crime and the police destroy evidence.

Sali Berisha: The years 2014-2024 were the black decade for the State Police, the decade in which also for the Albanian state, the decade in which the state and crime, crime and the state merged into a joint venture, as the resolutions of the most powerful international organizations of center-right parties now testify. And the most dramatic, the most tragic truth is, this joint venture crime-power, power-crime.

So if we analyze the current situation, it is truly very depressing. Incriminated police officers who every day destroy evidence, manipulate files, hide crimes, impose fines to rob citizens. These are the dominant features today, of the State Police led by Proda, with hundreds of thousands of pages of messages and conversations, the hierarchs of Edi Rama's police, occupy a central place in their communications with criminal gangs, with murderers, with traffickers and they have been among the most important users, almost as much as the bandits, of encrypted phones.
