"We have no conflict with any person" This is what the two police officers, Anxhelo Breshani and Nako Mehmetaj, who were assassinated this evening in the "Partizani" neighborhood in Vlora, but luckily escaped unhurt, have declared.

This testimony of theirs makes it even more difficult for the Police to identify and catch the perpetrators. The author who shot at Breshan and Mehmetaj was traveling in a "Volkswagen" type vehicle, while the two officers were off duty and were traveling in an "Audi" type vehicle.

The police found 5 shell casings at the scene, as the perpetrator is suspected to have left in the direction of the Vlora River.

It is not known who was the target of the assassination. Preliminary suspicions are that tonight's attack was a warning message to the two officers, since the author's car did not stop to make sure that the bullets would catch one of the policemen, but left the scene immediately.

The police are investigating two tracks, the one due to duty but also the personal conflicts that the two officers may have had. The police seized the security cameras in the area in order to clarify the incident.

Anxhelo Breshani is an employee of the General Patrol at the Vlorë Police Station, while Nako Mehmetaj is an employee of the Sarandë Border Police.
