Suad Idrizi, the lawyer of Arsen Muskurti, who two days ago killed his brother and sister-in-law, denied the news that the conflict between the brothers started because of religious belief.

In the show 'Sot' on Euronews Albania, he explained that Muskurti has been his client for about two years precisely because of issues of protection orders and conflicts with his brother.

He indicated that the conflict between the brothers started regarding the ownership of the agency, which was initially opened by Arseni, who then withdrew from the ownership and left it to his brothers.

The lawyer said that Arseni has 2 wives, one legal and one cohabiting, and 7 children who, as he said, were immediately sheltered in a social center as they feel threatened by the possibility of revenge from the family members of Muskurti's sister-in-law, killed by him.

"On the night of the incident, the police took the children and the wife for a protection order. They are in an apartment with another family, so they felt threatened. But the Court had terminated the protection order. Arseni has a wife and a partner, he also has 7 children. They went to a social center in Tirana, the state police did not take any measures to protect them. "Arseni also has an adult son, around 16 years old, so they fear revenge from his ex-sister-in-law's people," said the lawyer.

"He does not avoid a life sentence"

Suad Idrizi, the lawyer of Arsen Muskurti, said that his client cannot avoid life imprisonment, since the latter killed his brother and sister-in-law a few days ago in Tirana.

Idrizi said that if he comes out with the legal definition as he has defined, Arsen Muskurti will be sentenced to life in prison.

"He does not avoid life imprisonment. It is not avoided. I don't want to prejudge it, but since there are a series of ordeals, a series of stories, it is the court that will decide. It is not even decided by the prosecution body, absolutely no one decides it, only the court. Comprehensive procedural investigations will be carried out, which will ultimately result in the correct legal definition of the criminal offense. If they come out with this legal definition, as the prosecution has determined, it is absolutely life imprisonment", he emphasized.
