The Ministry of Interior and the State Police have decided to ban the circulation of electric skateboards on the roads due to the increase in accidents.

"Today I have asked the State Police to temporarily prohibit the circulation of electric skateboards on the road. I also want to inform all those who see electric skateboards as a business model for daily rental, that they should be clear not to invest in this activity. The permit, after the completion of this process, will always be valid only for personal use of these vehicles. We will draft clear and enforceable rules for everyone. We will clarify which are the lanes, roads or spaces where electric skateboards can be used and where not, as well as criteria for the age of use, protective measures such as a case, lighting or permitted speed," said Minister Koçiu.

"Starting on Monday, the State Police will be involved in the operation to stop the circulation of these vehicles and therefore we ask for the understanding of citizens for this process," said the Director General of the State Police, Ilir Proda.
