A young Albanian man has been sentenced to prison after he was caught with drugs while trying to flee the police at high speed on the streets of the city of Carlisle in England.
The whole chase, which lasted about three minutes, was filmed by the camera in the police car, while the Albanian Francesko Ago is seen trying to leave them at a speed of over 140 km/h in the residential area.
The event happened on February 14.
"He was driving in the city limits at 144 km/h, where the speed limit is 48 km/h," prosecutor Brendan Burke told the court. "He was overtaking vehicles, including a bend he entered at 100 km/h," the prosecutor said.
The video shows many pedestrians trying to avoid speeding vehicles.
The 24-year-old Albanian entered "Mallyclose Drive" at such a high speed that he lost control and collided with a road sign and a garden wall.
“He then attempted to flee on foot but was chased and apprehended on London Road. The chase lasted three minutes in total. "When the car was searched, 10.5 kg of cannabis, worth around £105,000 in total, was discovered," the prosecutor said.
Ago was sentenced to 14 months in prison, while the judge said it was a miracle that there were no victims from the pursuit.
