LGBT+ Pride March in Tirana joins Ambassador Kim

In Tirana, the Pride Parade took place this Saturday, where on boulevards and square Skenderbej marched with the flags of LGBT+ civil society activists, members of the LGBT+ community, as well as ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic body in Albania.

Among the participants was US Ambassador to Tirana Yuri Kim. The ambassador expressed enthusiasm and pride for the organizers and participants in this march.

"Everyone has the right to live with dignity. The US is proud to support the LGBTI+ march, as a matter of fundamental human rights and freedoms. I am glad to see the Ombudsman, Erinda Ballanca, EU Ambassadors and many other friends at this march. Congratulations to the LGBT Alliance and founder Jenny Karaj for the 2022 Human Rights Defender Award," Kim wrote.

In a post on the official website, the US Embassy writes that "the United States remains committed to human rights and fundamental freedoms for all persons as constitutional principles that continue to lead American diplomacy. President Biden this year published the Memorandum for the Advancement of Human Rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex Persons around the world."

The main slogan of the march was "We are family".
