Agreement for the production of military vessels, Minister Nufi meets his Italian counterpart in Rome

Minister of Defense Ermal Nufi paid an official visit to Italy, where he was hosted by his counterpart, Guido Crosseto.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their joint commitment to further strengthening strategic relations and bilateral cooperation in the field of defense and security.

Minister Nufi emphasized the importance of the close and special partnership with Italy, especially in addressing common security challenges in the Adriatic-Ionian area, the Western Balkans and Southeastern Europe - regions where our country continues to actively contribute to the collective defense of the Alliance.

Both ministers underlined that Albania and Italy are intensifying their strategic cooperation in the field of defense.

This step follows the agreement signed between the state-owned company "KAYO" and the well-known Italian company "FINCANTIERI" for the production of military vessels, a collaboration that is expected to bring a significant impact on the modernization of the naval capacities of our Armed Forces and the development of the defense industry in Albania.

Part of the talks was also the strengthening of Albania's role within the Alliance, especially in the framework of the NATO Summit, which will be held in Tirana next year and where preparations have begun with the creation of the Task Force and the National Summit Organization Team.
