Arlinda Pogaj has been relieved of her duties as head of the Centralized Purchasing Operator (CPO), thus ending a period of leadership at the head of this institution.

Arlinda Pogaj's statement

With pride and a clear conscience, I am closing a very important chapter of my professional life, after leading the Centralized Purchasing Operator.

It has been an extraordinary privilege and responsibility to be part of the creation and consolidation of an institution that was built from scratch and that today has earned the trust of the most important public institutions in the country.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Minister Mr. Blendi Gonxhja for the trust he gave me by appointing me at the head of this important institution. I also thank the Minister Ms. Delina Ibrahimaj for the fruitful cooperation and support during this period, in order to achieve the objectives and strengthen the role of the Public Procurement Office in the public procurement system.

I would also like to express special thanks to the Prime Minister of the country for his continued support for the mission and role of the Centralized Purchasing Operator in reforming and modernizing the public procurement system.

During this journey, OBP managed to complete 1,649 procurement procedures, generating around 42 million euros in savings for the state budget. We served 242 public institutions, including hospitals, social centers, institutions for the execution of criminal decisions, military institutions, police institutions and many other institutions of particular importance to the Albanian citizens and the state.

We created standardized processes, increased competition and transparency in procurement, developed innovative instruments and contributed to the modernization of the public procurement system. The name of OBP became known beyond the borders of Albania, thanks to collaborations with European counterpart institutions and participation in international initiatives and projects.

But the greatest achievement is not the numbers. The greatest achievement is the people.

My special thanks go to the extraordinary staff of OBP, who with professionalism, honesty, dedication and sacrifice turned a vision into a successful institution. I am proud of each of you and all that we have achieved together.

Duties pass, but honest work, values, and contribution remain.

Thank you all for your trust, cooperation and support during this journey.

Me respect,

Arlinda Pogaj
