Elio Rraku, the 17-year-old who drove the car that crashed two Italian tourists to death on the Saranda-Ksamil axis, was left in the "prison arrest" measure.

The hearing for the provision of the security measure was conducted in the premises of the Hospital of Saranda, where the 17-year-old is under the care of doctors.

He is accused by the prosecution of the criminal offense "violating the rules of road traffic" when the criminal offense causes death or serious injury of some persons and "driving an irregularly vehicle".

The 17-year-old's defense lawyer asked for lighter security measures on the grounds that he is a minor, a student and traumatized by the event and needs to stay close to his family.
