The Special Prosecution Office has launched investigations into the Vlora airport construction tender, summoning members of the evaluation committee to testify, two of whom have been charged with violating equality in tenders.

According to bw , there are strong suspicions that equality procedures were violated during the evaluation of bids and there is a possibility that the winner of the contract was predetermined.

"SPAK, after almost a year of investigations, has reached the conclusion and has strong suspicions that the concession contract for Vlora airport was concluded on the basis of a violation of equality in tenders and, according to the Prosecution, it also results that the competition for the announcement of the winning companies is predetermined ," writes bw .

The year-long investigation is led by Special Prosecutor Klodian Braho , who a few days ago summoned and communicated the charge for the criminal offense of violating equality in tenders to two members of the bid evaluation commission.

According to her, the investigation has shown that equality was violated during the evaluation of the competing companies and the winning company is likely to have been predetermined.

The Vlora airport concession was placed under preliminary investigation in July 2025 by SPAK, following a request from a citizen, whose name was not made public./ Bw
