An Albanian citizen has been arrested in Pereira, Colombia after being wanted for a murder since 2022.
Foreign media reports that Florind Rama, who was wanted by INTERPOL, was arrested for a murder that occurred in Marbella, Spain.
Meanwhile, Colombian authorities are investigating the Albanian's ties to Colombian drug traffickers in the region where he was arrested.
His capture was made possible thanks to the cooperation between the Pereira Metropolitan Police, Europol and Spanish authorities.

After investigations and tracking his movements, it was determined that he was in the city, where he was allegedly trying to stay hidden.
Police Director William Rincón announced that the arrested man is suspected of being part of a criminal network of Albanian origin operating in Europe.
Within this structure, he is thought to have had a role in armed activities, linked to torture and contract killings.
According to reports from Spain, the victim of the case was held hostage, tortured and then killed, which led to his being declared an international wanted man and the activation of cooperation between law enforcement institutions.

Meanwhile, authorities are continuing to investigate Rama's possible links to drug trafficking networks in the region, analyzing his movements, contacts, and activities in Pereira and other areas.
The arrest was made as part of Operation Tripoli, a broad investigation aimed at cracking down on international organized crime networks involved in several types of criminal activities in different countries.
