An Albanian has been attacked to death in the infamous Koridhalos prison in Greece.

The victim has been identified as Jani Aliaj , nicknamed " Xheku ", who is wanted in Albania for murder.

The perpetrator of the attack is a Greek citizen, convicted of murder.

The 49-year-old from Tepelena, who had been arrested in Greece since December 31, 2024, was killed today in Koridhalos prison after being stabbed by a Greek prisoner in sector 3 of the prison.

The perpetrator, like Aliaj, has been convicted of murder. The Greek police have launched an investigation into the incident, not ruling out the possibility that it was a contract killing.

Jani Aliaj is a wanted person in Albania, sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Elton Cico on May 1, 2016 in the former Blloku area of ??Tirana.

He is also wanted for an incident that occurred in 2015 in Përmet, where an attempted theft of a large quantity of marijuana ended with injuries.

Aliaj was wanted on three charges for that incident.

Also, Jani Aliaj , who was arrested on December 31, 2024 under the false identity Aleksan Kreshnik, was wanted in Greece after he escaped from Corfu prison where he was serving a life sentence, plus 2 years plus 12 months for the murder of an Albanian, serious injury and possession of a weapon, events that occurred in Athens in 2006.
