The hottest days of July with temperatures expected to reach 43 degrees Celsius will be Thursday and Friday of this week.

Consecutive days with temperatures above 40 have made this heat wave that has gripped Albania for more than a week to be experienced even more.

"Any area can exceed 43. Shkodra, Kopliku, Berati, Elbasani, Gjirokastra, Tepelena, Përmeti, are the areas where the highest temperatures will be recorded", says meteorologist Lajda Porja.

In these last 5 years, July 2023 has recorded the highest temperature in Albania of 43.6 degrees in Elbasan, which is probably not expected to be exceeded by the wave of this July.

Unlike the rest of the territory, on the 18th and 19th, the mountainous areas will be affected by rain showers.

Next week, maximum temperatures drop to 40 degrees.
