Fredi Beleri is in Strasbourg, where he will be sworn in as a Greek MEP.
He has received leave from prison in Albania. In an interview with the Greek media, Beleri said that the last 15 months have been the most difficult of his life. He said he will fight for the rights of Greeks in Albania.
Commenting on the new elections in Himare, Beleri said that Petro Gjikuria is Greek, and as a Greek he has his support.
"Those 15 months were the most difficult of my life. Prison is not easy for anyone. I had the support of many people. But I am here to fight for the rights of Greeks in Albania. Many brothers have come here to greet me, to ask me.
I know that in the end I will come out innocent. A prison is a prison, it has nothing to do with pre-90's prisons, but every prisoner is treated the same. For the new mayor of Himara, we want a Greek, a Greek that the people will love", declared Beleri.
