Olsian Çela: I would focus on the issues of corruption, despite the fact that it is related to SPAK, this is an important part of the work of the general jurisdiction prosecutors.
During the year 2023, it turns out that there are 32 cases, which were sent to SPAK by the Prosecutions of the general jurisdiction. In 6 cases, the results come from the application of special investigation methods.
Even the prosecutions of the bloody jurisdiction themselves have promising data. During 2023, 170 proceedings were registered with 123 defendants for corruption issues. Meanwhile, 140 proceedings with 151 defendants have been sent for trial.
A positive trend can be observed where some of the cases are initiated by the prosecutors. There are 18 such cases.
Another aspect has been the one related to the cleaning of the products of the criminal offense. Today we can say that a great progress has been made.
In 2023, 156 new proceedings were registered in terms of money laundering, while 16 people were sent for trial and 22 were convicted for money laundering.
A focus has also been given to the financial investigation that goes along with the investigation of various criminal offences. Let me give you two cases to show the quality. In one case, we have the seizure of the bank accounts of 15 companies in a value of 5.8 million euros, while in a second case, 1.3 million euros were seized.
