Surprise checks in Tirana and Kruja, two in handcuffs, cocaine and cold weapons

Police authorities have conducted checks in various areas of Tirana, in Fushë-Krujë, Bubq and Nikël, with the aim of cracking down on illegality.

The operations concluded with the arrest of 2 people caught red-handed, one with a quantity of cocaine and the other with a cold weapon (metal rod).

Meanwhile, as a result of the checks, the police have fined 34 drivers for having tinted windows without the appropriate permit. A total of 118 people and 87 vehicles have been escorted to the police stations for further verifications.

Meanwhile, a person was escorted to the police station after violating the 'house arrest' security measure.

Intensive field controls continue to prevent and crack down on illegalities, as well as to increase security parameters.

The Special Operations Force and the "Eagle" Special Force, in cooperation with the Traffic Police services, have intensified field controls, focusing on identifying illegal possession of weapons, possession of narcotics, arresting wanted persons, as well as controlling luxury vehicles, armored vehicles, vehicles with tinted windows beyond the permitted norms, including the windshield, as well as vehicles with modifications that cause disturbing noise in the city.

As part of the plan of measures to increase security parameters and prevent and crack down on illegalities, the services of the Special Operational Force and the "Eagle" Special Force, in cooperation with the Road Police services, have conducted surprise checks on the main road axes and in various areas of Tirana, as well as in Fushë-Krujë, Bubq and Nikël.

As a result of the checks:

* 87 vehicles were checked and verified;

* 118 citizens have been verified;

* 34 tinted windows were found and removed, in violation of the provisions of the Road Code, and administrative measures were imposed against drivers who were driving with tinted windows in violation of the law;

* 12 vehicles and 16 citizens were escorted for further verifications;

* a citizen was arrested in flagrante delicto, after a quantity of narcotics, suspected to be cocaine, was found on him during a search;

* a citizen was arrested in flagrante delicto, after a cold weapon (metal rod) was found and seized during the search;

* A citizen was escorted after violating the "House Arrest" security measure, while the luxury vehicle he was using was seized.

"The controls will continue uninterruptedly, with zero tolerance towards any violation of the law, with the aim of guaranteeing public order and safety, as well as increasing security for citizens," the police announced.
