Approval for old vehicles can be reinstated once a year, as a measure to increase road safety.
Since 1 and a half years, the changes in the code have made technical inspection mandatory for cars only every two years. But the measure that was taken to avoid the queues and inconvenience of the drivers, also created negligence in maintenance.
The general director of DPSHTRR, Blendi Gonxhja, declares for A2 CNN that the condition of the cars that return to inspection will be seen and then it will be decided if the frequency of checks can be increased for a certain category.
Every year, the vehicle fleet in our country grows by 40-50 thousand cars and other vehicles.
Gonxja does not rule out the possibility of liberalizing the inspection service in the future, provided that control standards are maintained.
The technical control service was returned to the state last year after an 11-year concession. The concession company was accused of non-implementation of some conditions of the concession, such as the delivery of the technical control points in working condition, forcing the state to make a temporary interruption of this service.
However, the contract drawn up against the state makes it impossible to pursue these violations legally.
