The Criminal Court of Kosovo has rejected businessman Ilir Shtufi's request to replace the security measure of "prison arrest", leaving in force the measure imposed against him within the framework of investigations into criminal group and money laundering.

Shtufi, who was arrested in Greece, has been placed at the center of an investigation by the Prosecutor's Office, and he faces charges related to criminal activity and money laundering.

SPAK says that Ilir Shtufi is considered involved in illegal money laundering activities by acting on behalf of Luçiano Koçek, through involvement in a series of actions such as: sales, fictitious transfers, for the purpose of integrating the proceeds of Koçek's criminal activity into the companies "Nova Construction" and "LTD".

The financial data of the companies "LTD" and "Nova" shows a significant increase in monetary turnover for the years related to the criminal activity of the criminal group of Luçiano Koçek and that from the examination of the communications in "SKY ECC" of Luçiano Koçek it has been proven that Ilir Shtufi and his entities "Nova Construction" and "LTD" act according to the orders and orientations of Luçiano Koçek.

One of the properties built from drug money is the tower on "Rruga e Kavajës" in Tirana, called the "Garden Building".

The operation, which took place on June 12, led to the issuance of 20 security measures. Among the people involved in the investigation is businessman Artur Shehu, who has been declared wanted.

Also wanted are Erion Rama and his brother Adriani, nephews of Fatmir Rama, known as "Miri i Xhikes".

The Koçeku brothers' criminal group, led by Luciano alias Artur Koçeku, his brother Abedin Koçeku and other family members are among the people for whom security measures have been imposed.

According to SPAK, profits generated from drug trafficking were then invested in construction companies, real estate, and other economic activities.
