Two people were arrested after they were caught in the act as soon as they pulled from the Durrës Post Office, a package of cannabis in the form of chocolate, which came from Belgium.

"Following the intensive police and investigative work, with the aim of cracking down on criminal activities in the field of narcotics, within the proactive investigation developed by the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana, the structures of the State Police, in continuous cooperation with the security structures of the Albanian Post and DVP Durrës, made possible the organization and successful completion of the coded police operation "Green mail 3", as a result of which the citizens were arrested red-handed: EH, 22 years old and EH, 28 years old, both residents of Durrës, after were caught by the services of the DVP Durrës, immediately they have withdrawn from the Durrës Post Office, the package with suspected narcotic substance cannabis, in the form of chocolate, which was seized as material evidence, together with a "Hyundai" type vehicle and 2 mobile devices", said the Police.

From the investigative actions, it appears that the arrested citizens, in cooperation with other citizens, have trafficked packages of cannabis from Belgium to Albania through the mail. The work by the Unit for the Investigation of Narcotics and Illegal Traffic in the Investigative Directorate in the Department of Criminal Police of the State Police continues, for the complete legal documentation of this criminal activity, as well as for the identification and legal responsibility of other implicated persons. in it.

This is the third police operation completed within the last 3 months, to crack down on the criminal activity of narcotics trafficking through the mail, from different countries. "Green mail" was finalized on June 30, 2022 and resulted in the seizure of about 1.3 kilograms of cannabis, brought from the United Kingdom and the handcuffing of 2 citizens, while "Green mail 2" was finalized on August 18 of the same year and as a result, 2 packages of cannabis, also brought from the United Kingdom, were seized, and 2 other citizens were arrested.
