Nadire Kurti, who admitted to the murder of her husband in Italy, Shefki Kurti, confessed to the investigators.

The woman is locked up in the Rovigo psychiatric hospital on the charge of intentional murder.

The 68-year-old woman confessed that she did everything herself, dismembering her husband's corpse with a kitchen knife.

"Where did you learn to wait like that", she was asked by the investigator.

And she answers with a simple, almost banal example, which for a moment brings back the image of a housewife who has spent her life preparing lunch for the man she later killed: When I was cutting the chicken.

She says that Shefkiu mistreated her, but at the moment the carabinieri have not found any evidence.

"My husband has been beating me for years"

"I killed my husband because he beat me every day for several years. he would punch me and tell me I had to leave the house because he wanted to sell it."

She was convinced that her husband was cheating on her with a woman who was somehow controlling her.

"He had another one. I heard him talking to an Albanian who wanted 90,000 euros."

She claims that in the days before the crime, fights had become more frequent.

Investigators believe that the crime took place between July 21 and 22.

"That day I killed him, I told him to run away with the other woman but he slapped me and I took the axe. It is an ax that Shefkiu kept behind the bedroom door to protect himself in case thieves entered the house. I hit him and then hit him again until he died."

"I broke it into pieces"

She repeats that the crime happened at the height of a fight.

He explains that he gave the first blow to his back. The dynamic, however, is clear. A blow to the neck and he fell to the ground. Later he gave him more blows. At that moment, when she saw her husband's corpse, the woman decided to disappear all traces.

"I dragged him into the bathroom with a sheet."

She quickly realized that she would never be able to take the body out of the house, reports abcnews.al.

"As it was very heavy, I broke it into pieces to remove it."

First he used the axe, then he took the kitchen knife to cut the body into pieces.

I put the pieces in the fridge

It's a horror movie that goes on all afternoon. She explains that she put the body parts "inside garbage bags" and then "put the parts in the freezer."

Then the woman cleaned the whole house.

She spent the next few hours washing the blood stains from the bedroom and bathroom, while her husband's corpse was in the refrigerator.

"I waited until midnight because I didn't want anyone to see me, I took the pieces from the freezer and went to throw them in the canal." 

The man's body parts, apart from his skull, were found in black plastic bags in a canal near Villanova del Ghebbo (Rovigo) between July 28 and July 31, 2022. While the woman was arrested on August 29, 2022.
