An Albanian couple in Greece ended up in court, after the 29-year-old accused her husband of raping her.

According to the Greek media, the young Albanian woman declared to the police that her 41-year-old husband had sexual relations with her against her will.

"The 29-year-old girl, mother of two minor children, went on June 23, 2021 at 17:00 to the Security Directorate of Rhodes and complained that the night before at 10:30, her husband of Albanian origin, using physical violence and threats, forced her to have intercourse against her will. She said that she has been married to the 41-year-old man for ten years and since the beginning of their married life she has had serious problems with him. The 29-year-old had declared to the police that he constantly treated her with violence (physical, verbal or psychological), while he threatened her, insulted her and forced her to have sexual intercourse.

Regarding the incident, the 29-year-old woman said that everything started around 22:30 on June 22, 2021, when they returned home from work. After putting the children to sleep, when she herself went to sleep wearing long pajamas, her husband began to approach her with the intention of having sex.

The 29-year-old complained and told her that she was very tired and didn't want to, but the 41-year-old, according to her, tore her clothes and performed the sexual act," Greek media write.

Meanwhile, in front of the police, he stated that he tore his clothes in moments of passion.

"After the act, I asked her to hug her so we could sleep, and she accepted," he declared.

The 41-year-old had declared, among other things, that he loves his wife very much and that both she and their children are the most important thing in his life, and that he has never harmed her.

He had emphasized that he was really shocked by the denunciation made by the 29-year-old woman and that he never hit her, never threatened her and certainly never raped her.

He admitted that every couple has quarreled, but he never used physical, verbal or psychological violence against her.

For the night in question when he is accused of raping the 29-year-old, the Albanian has repeated that there was sexual intercourse between them, but with her consent.

In the end, the Albanian was released on bail.
