The Tirana prosecution has closed the criminal escalation file in connection with the lack of medicines in QSUT for children cured of cancer and tumors.

The case was denounced by journalist Osman Stafa, who conducted an investigation into how medicines that as a rule should ensure the state were missing from the Mother Teresa University Hospital Centre.

In the investigation, the journalist also brings the case of some families who were curing their children with these medications. They denounced how they bought these medicines themselves, even on the black market, despite their high prices.

However, the Tirana Prosecution has found no criminal offence in this case, although the lack of these medicines has put the lives of dozens of children at risk.

"After more than 3 months since the first moment I created criminal reindeer, the Prosecution at the First Instance Court Tirana has decided "not to initiate criminal proceedings", for the lack of medications in QSUNT, in the department of Onko-Hamatolawia", announces the journalist.

Through a Facebook post, Stafa accuses the prosecutor of not investigating the case in depth.

"I don't know what investigation the Tirana Prosecution has conducted, about the lack of life-saving medication for children, and I don't want to believe that this case has only wanted to close with procedures. But unfortunately, all thoughts lead me in this direction, because it is enough to take the registers of the National Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices, to prove or not my claim, for lack of medication," he adds.

Further, the journalist asks if the children's families have been questioned? Have the medication records that the pavilion received from the central pharmacy depot at QSUNT have been taken over this 2-year period? Have doctors been questioned? What about the director of the qsut? Are you starting from the Ministry of Health for abuse of duty? What about a request for information that belongs to the tenders?

He later expressed surprise at how the Prosecution found no criminal offence in the escalation handed over by him.

"To deny someone life-saving medications when it is you who provides it and is not called a criminal offence. yes, the lack of these medicines leads to worsening health conditions to death. Isn't that at least abuse of duty and maximum, murder?" he says.

According to him, the prosecution's purpose was not for any moment of investigation, but the closure of the file, as it closed.

"This is after the prosecution from the moment of the recording of the reins, dt. 04.05.2022 there was 15 days, according to the law, to decide whether to start or not start criminal proceedings. But this legal deadline has been violated and only on 05.07.2022, so two months later the Prosecution has decided not to start. In fact, as the legal deadline passed, the Prosecution had an obligation to register criminal proceedings and conduct full investigations. While for 3 days there are 3 months that criminal escalation has been recorded and I still do not have the decision not to start" he adds.

He says he will challenge this Decision of the Tirana Prosecution.

"I will make a complaint to the Court of the Tirana Judicial Circle. Next, the Court will decide what happens to this case," Stafa says.
