Arrested two police officers on duty in the Saranda Border Police Station.

The Regional Directorate of the Vlorë-Gjirokastër Police Surveillance Agency, in cooperation with the Sarandë District Prosecutor's Office, carried out today the execution of the Prosecutor's order pursuant to decision No. 15, February 1, 2023 of the Saranda Court of First Instance, which decided to assign the security measure "House arrest" for police officers DS and R. XH.

They are suspected of committing the criminal offense "Theft by abusing duty" committed in cooperation, provided for by Article 135 and 25 of the Criminal Code.

The execution of this decision comes after an intensive investigative work, following the event that happened on January 25 of this year when police officer MJ was detained and police officer DS was released.

The arrests came after the report of a foreign citizen, an irregular immigrant caught in the territory, that the Qafë Bota policemen took an amount of 400 euros and a mobile phone from him.

The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance in Saranda.
