The court of Kruja has released the two brothers Sajmit and Landi Miri who are accused of murdering the 34-year-old from Fushë-Kruja, Indrit Ndoji.
The decision was taken by the judge Konstandina Kuro, who accepted the request of the prosecution to replace the security measure from "prison arrest" to mandatory appearance" against the two Miri brothers.
The dead body of Indri Ndoji was found dead in a canal after 08.00 in the morning on October 21, while it is suspected that he was there dead for about 8-9 hours. According to the expertise, the unfortunate 34-year-old was shot by the perpetrators with a screwdriver in the right leg and died due to bleeding.
They had made an appointment to clarify a previous incident and it is suspected that the crime occurred after a conflict. The two brothers were arrested a day later, where they confessed to the crime and showed remorse.
"We did not intend to kill him. Yes, the situation got out of control after he attacked us and insulted us severely. He (Ndoj) was in serious condition, having consumed narcotics. We met at the place to clear up an old conversation. It is not that we had any open conflict with him, everything happened immediately after he attacked us. He was not aware. He tried to shoot us and to defend myself I shot him. Then we left. We left him alive. And we did not think that we had done any serious injury. But unfortunately the screwdriver had touched the main vein (femoral artery). Only when we heard in the morning that he had died. That's when we panicked. We don't know what to do. We are very sorry, as there was no need for the situation to reach this point of no return. We are very sorry."- the Miri brothers declared at that time before the police investigators.
