This is what Poli Boriç, the 52-year-old arrested for the failed assassination attempt in Elbasan, where the target was 50-year-old Ermir Kërtezi, is said to have stated to investigators.

According to his statement, the motive for the attack is related to an event that occurred years ago. Boriçi claimed that Kërtezi had injured his brother and that the consequences of that event were serious, to the point of paralyzing him. But this version is contradicted by the statement of the person who was the target of the attack. Kërtezi said that relations between them had normalized and that the two families lived next to each other and had not had any problems for a decade and a half.

Meanwhile, sources from the investigative group inform me that they are also investigating other leads, perhaps a recent conflict between the perpetrator and the target.
