Prime Minister Edi Rama, in his tributes to the former Speaker of Parliament, Servet Pëllumbi, who passed away the day before, declared that "the professor will remain a point of reference in the history of changes and the changing of eras, and undoubtedly a point of reference for all those who will one day want to understand the dynamics and history of the Socialist Party itself."

"I have known the professor a little and from afar. For the sake of truth, I want to remember here that my relationship with him is a typical relationship of mutual antipathy at a distance and then mutual sympathy in close proximity. For years since I saw him appear before my eyes, the professor represented everything I did not sympathize with, conservative, Marxist-Leninist, and all that accompanied his figure when it came to the attacks and labels that were made of him.

"One of the most valuable lessons of this entire journey has been facing the reality of man beyond his labels and chronicling in the public sphere, and to my surprise, I have come to know a very progressive man, a kind man towards anyone who tried to do something different, and a man who stood by me in difficult moments, who would suddenly appear on my cell phone screen unexpectedly, sending me encouraging words and helping me see that beyond the difficult moment and beyond what seemed, there was a category of people who followed and assessed a certain situation calmly and truthfully," said Rama.

"When I found out that the professor had passed away, it came as a surprise to me because I don't know why I was used to the idea that the professor walked every day and it seemed like something predetermined that he would always walk. On the few occasions when I met him, I always found him in shape and always eager to talk about the topics that he was passionate about. When a person leaves, many things are related to him coming closer, but I believe that even when this coming closer as a result of the moment dissolves in time, the professor will remain a reference point in the history of changes and the change of eras, and undoubtedly a reference point for all those who will one day want to understand the dynamics and history of the SP itself.

What is most important is the memory he leaves behind. I believe that with or without a voice, everyone who knew him will remember him as a good, honest, wise and above all, a brave man. I wish that not only his sons, but also his nieces, nephews and all other relatives will always remember him, expressing with pain the wish that he may rest in peace, as he deserved with the life and memory he leaves behind", added the Prime Minister.
