Greece publishes the regulation for Albanian immigrants!

Greece has published in the Official Gazette the new regulation, according to which, Albanian immigrants will be allowed to pass freely with proof of residence permit until December 31, 2024.

This regulation rejects the previous one, according to which, Albanians in Greece would be prevented from moving after March 31, if they were waiting for the issuance or renewal of the residence permit.

From emigrants to European citizens, Albanians are not only leaving, but finally abandoning the country
. According to the decision, this applies to those who are holders of a valid certificate of application for equipment for the first time or re-equipment with a residence permit;

For those who are holders of a valid special certificate of legal residence, provided that they leave Greece within the aforementioned period;

Those who possess a valid passport or other travel document recognized by Greece.

"This decision benefits all Albanian citizens who are in the process of applying for equipment/re-equipment with a residence permit and who possess the relevant certification," the announcement states, among other things.

After the continuous communications of the Albanian Embassy in Athens with the competent Greek institutions, we inform you that:

With Decision No. 4000/3/98-ib', published in the Official Journal of the Government of the Greek Republic, today, on March 19, 2024, on "Exit and re-entry of foreign nationals of third countries with residence permits, the validity period of which has ended and of foreign citizens of third countries who have applied for equipment with a residence permit", it is determined that:

During the period from 31-03-2024 to 31-12-2024, the exit to a third country, outside the Schengen member states, and the re-entry of citizens of third countries legally residing in Greece, holders of:

A valid proof of application for equipment for the first time or re-equipment with a residence permit, according to articles 10 and 11 of law no. 5038/2023 or

A valid special certificate of legal residence, according to Article 16 of Law no. 5038/2023, provided that they leave Greece within the aforementioned period and possess a valid passport or other travel document recognized by Greece.

This Decision benefits all Albanian citizens who are in the process of applying for equipment/re-equipment with a residence permit and who possess the relevant certification.
