The Ministry of Tourism and Environment has reacted after the news on a proposal for water supply with spring transfer from the Blue Eye to Corfu.
The ministry denies having such an agreement, as it states that there have not even been discussions about a similar project. The reaction further adds that since January of this year, the Blue Eye has received a higher protection status, that of the "Natural Park" with an area increased to 293 hectares.
"The Ministry of Tourism and Environment, based on some news spread in various media on an alleged technical proposal / memorandum of water supply with transfer of springs from the Blue Eye to Corfu, explains:
There is no such agreement and there have been no discussions about a similar project according to the news spread by the media. The allegations raised are untrue.
The Blue Eye is a natural asset of Albania, which with the decisions of January 2022 has received a higher protection status, that of the "Natural Park" with an area increased to 293 hectares, to better protect the Natural Monument with the same name, which he bears inside the park ", writes the ministry.
