GJKKO rejects Veliaj's 5 requests

The court has rejected 5 requests submitted by the defense of Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj.

The request for a live broadcast of the hearing was considered repetitive and was rejected by the panel, which stated that the hearing is public, but this does not necessarily mean a live broadcast to the media.

The court also rejected the request to remove the defendant from the glass-enclosed room, arguing that such a measure does not violate the defendant's procedural rights and is related to the proper conduct of the process.

The request to hold hearings more often than once a week was also rejected, as were the requests related to digital evidence, which the court stated had been decided earlier.

Meanwhile, due to the request of the defense of one of the other defendants, Ajola Xoxa, the court decided to postpone the session to June 23, at 10:00.

It was also announced that the detention terms for Erion Veliaj have been suspended.
