In today's court session for the "Gërdeci" case, a strong clash was recorded between lawyer Ardian Visha and the family of Erison Durda, the 7-year-old who lost his life in the tragic explosion of 2008.
During his speech, lawyer Visha stated that the legitimization of the victims' parties in the process was done in violation of the law, questioning the role of their legal representative.
"The victims' representative is the head of an association funded by Soros, specifically 'ResPublica', while my client represents a political entity that has expressed open positions against Soros. This organization, since its creation in 2010, has exerted significant influence to open this issue," Visha declared.
At this moment, the victim's brother Erison Durda intervened, insulting the lawyer, causing tension in the courtroom.
Visha requested from Judge Irena Gjoka the exclusion of the victims' side from the hearing due to inappropriate language, but the request was not granted.
For his part, former minister Fatmir Mediu complained that for more than a year and a half, his lawyers have been filing requests that have not received a response, describing the process as politicized.
"There is a political approach to the issue. A structure built politically since 2010, just for this case, cannot be part of this process. You cannot ignore this fact. You are asking us to continue as if everything is normal," said Mediu.
His lawyers, including Henrik Ligori, requested the disqualification of Judge Gjoka and the suspension of the trial until a decision is made on the submitted requests.
"Justice has been insulted here, not just this judicial body that is here today. It is impossible to continue the process under these conditions," declared Ligori.
