The Chairperson of the KLP, Mirela Bogdani, was also asked about the procedures for the new heads of SPAK and BKH.
The process for selecting the new head of the BKH is expected to be completed by November 10, while the new head of the Special Prosecution Office is expected to be selected in early December.
"Regarding the process of the head of the BKH in communication with the structures of the Special Prosecution Office due to the somewhat prolonged verification of applications for candidates, the process should be finalized around November 10. As for the election of the head of SPAK, I believe that maybe the beginning of December, but we are discussing it with the members of the council, I believe that the process will be completed by the beginning of December so that the new head can take over the task in a more natural way from the current one. It will be before the 16th when the mandate of the current head ends," Bogdani emphasized.
Asked if there were any problems during the process, she said:
"Regarding the head of the BKH, there was communication about a claim that the previous head had for an automatic extension for a second 5-year term at the head of the BKH. Therefore, it has been foreseen, also in coordination with SPAK, which has the competence for the selection procedure, that Article 33 of the law be applied, according to which the final duty of the council is carried out at the moment the candidate or proposal that will be recommended by SPAK arrives. We cannot say that there were problems, but discussions and different positions on how to interpret the law."
