The race for the new leadership of the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH) has entered one of the most important phases, that of the physical test. After the completion of the second phase of the selection, out of 13 candidates who initially applied, only 7 managed to advance further.

The Special Commission at SPAK has decided that the physical test, which constitutes the third phase of the competition, will take place on July 11, 2025, in the premises of the RENEA special department.

Six candidates will participate in this test, which will be subject to a series of physical exercises. The test will be monitored by a representative of SPAK prosecutors as well as experts from the Tirana Sports University. 

The candidates running in the race are:

Artur Beu
Elton Kërluku
Gentian Ndoi
Gentjan Shehaj
Gledis Nano
Joni Keta

Meanwhile, the selection process for the new head of the BKH must be completed before August 31, 2025, when the five-year mandate of the current head, Aida Hajnaj, ends.
