The fire that engulfed the Blue Eye Natural Park yesterday afternoon continued throughout today.
Since this morning, the firefighting intervention is being carried out from the air with a Canadair aircraft and a helicopter, in an attempt to stop the fire from spreading further in the natural park.
Due to the high risk, authorities have evacuated over 500 tourists from the area.
Meanwhile, traffic on the Muzinë-Saranda segment has been temporarily closed, as the flames have reached near and above the asphalt.
These images show that the size of the fire on this road is large.
The situation also remains problematic on the Bistrica-Muzinë road, where there are reports of fire spreading to several points.
Firefighters are working on the ground, while aerial intervention is ongoing to avoid greater damage to the protected area and infrastructure.
