A former police officer from Albania has been caught during an anti-cannabis operation in Great Britain.
The 24-year-old Igli Duka was arrested in Livingston last year, while in court he claimed that he was forced to work as a "gardener" for narcotic plants by a gangster he had once arrested in Albania.
Duke said the gangster had threatened his family after being released from police custody.
While the lawyer of the ex-Albanian policeman said that the gangster who threatened him is "high-ranking" and had told the ex-policeman that he would have to repay the debt of 50,000 euros that he had given as a bribe to get out of prison in Albania.
However, the court decided to sentence Duke to two years in prison for the illegal cultivation of narcotic plants.
