Three Albanians have been sentenced to prison by British justice after cannabis worth 300,000 pounds was discovered after an attack by masked and armed persons.

It is about citizens Glen Xhaferri, 26 years old, Redjon Murati, 28 years old, and Anis Plauku, 29 years old.

Local media reports that after the attack on their property they rushed to Bradford Royal Infirmary on February 27.

Plauk suffered a fractured skull, Xhaferri had cuts on his head and nose, and Murat received a deep wound on his wrist.

Police found an Audi A5 abandoned near the hospital belonging to Albanians, containing £84,000 in a black bag on the back seats.

The three defendants were subsequently arrested and officers went to search the bungalow where they lived in Queensbury. Police managed to find 16kg of cannabis worth £151,710 and £35,000 cash in a wardrobe. Other items found include an anti-spy detector, €1,000, mobile phones and £240.

When interviewed after his arrest, Xhaferri stated that he knew nothing about the money and did not comment on the cannabis. The same was said by Murat, who added that he slept in the living room and the other two used the bedrooms.

In Xhaferr's defense, the judge was told that he is an Albanian with "good character" who received his engineering degree in Albania. He came to the UK looking for work but faced difficulties due to his immigration status.

The attack was a "rude awakening" for him and others. After pleading guilty, he now apologizes and understands the seriousness of what happened.

Murat's defense lawyer, Khadim Al'Hassan, explained how his client had only arrived at the address on the day of his arrest after being recently released from custody in Scotland.

He came to the country after being exploited and trafficked from a "poor background". The attack, which left him with long-term injuries, happened after he got out of the shower.

Therefore, the judge believed that the three Albanians were trusted members of the crime chain and did not accept that they did not play a major role, just because they had been raped and robbed.

Murat did not have the money so was in a different position but still chose to return to the address from Scotland, added Recorder Dawson.

Both Xhaferri and Plauku were sentenced to three years for possession of cannabis for supply. This will run concurrently with a one-year sentence for the second offense, possession of criminal property in the form of money. Murat was sentenced to 27 months in prison for his role in the cannabis crime.
