Durres port

50 thousand liters of contraband oil were blocked in the evening by the Maritime Anti-Smuggling in cooperation with the border police of Durrës.

The oil was found after checks in the internal warehouses of the trawler "Leon" and the police arrested  Shpëtim Canin , 43 years old, a resident of Durrës, as captain of the ship, as well as Roland Cani , 41 years old, as a sailor of the ship.

According to police sources, the trawler came from Eastern countries, while the oil was planned to be dumped on the domestic market. Preliminary materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further investigation.

In July of this year, the police seized 80,000 liters of fuel smuggled through a trawler in the port, while announcing the search for three people. Maritime anti-smuggling is continuing intensive controls, focusing on vessels.
