"I have never met McGonigal. Everything has been said in the media, it is in the wake of the constant, baseless allegations being made about the institution I lead. There was no reason to meet McGonigal, nor have I ever known him and I heard his name after the publications in the Albanian media", said Dumani in a reaction to the media.

Invited yesterday to the "Opinion" show, the head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, said in a television interview that the Head of the Special Prosecution Against Organized Crime and Corruption, Altin Dumani, is a defender of the impunity of Prime Minister Edi Rama and that the investigations against him began after the meeting with McGonigal.

"SPAK launched an investigation in December 2019, according to my data, even after Duman's meetings with McGonigal. And why did it start in December 2019 for a closed case? Because it was time that Ilir Meta did not allow the Constitutional Court to be occupied by Edi Rama's gang", said Meta.
