Customs blocks 48 cases of smuggled wine in Vlora

A Customs check in Vlora has discovered 16 undeclared packages of red wine hidden inside a truck.

The wine, an Italian product, turns out to be a product of Cantina Della Corte, red, with 16% alcohol.

After the smuggling attempt was discovered, the carrier was fined three times the customs clearance value and also completed customs procedures.

Wine is an excise product and, in the customs regime, is considered among the products with high risk for smuggling through border crossings with neighboring countries.
