A fire of considerable proportions engulfed a service unit in the village of Xhyrë, next to the Librazhd-Përrenjas national highway, in the early hours of the morning.

According to the announcement of the Librazhd MZSH, fire services were notified at around 03:29 and immediately intervened at the scene.

Two fire engines and 10 firefighters participated in the operation, which made it possible to extinguish the flames and prevent the fire from spreading. As a result, a kiosk owned by citizen Skënder Gega from the village of Xhyrë in the Hotolisht Administrative Unit of the Librazhd Municipality was completely burned down, as well as two vehicles parked next to it.

Meanwhile, two other nearby kiosks and another vehicle parked near the fire were saved from the flames. Sources from the Ministry of Fire and Emergency Services indicate that the cause of the fire remains to be determined, but there are strong suspicions of deliberate arson. Among the burned vehicles is a vehicle with Greek license plates, owned by an immigrant who returned to his homeland for the end-of-year holidays.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident. The State Police were also present at the scene, and have launched investigations to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
