Investigations continue into the murder of Renis Dobra, the young man from Burreli who was executed on July 8 of this year.
Among the people suspected of being involved in this serious incident is the name of Petrit Çakrri, a character with a problematic past and a long history with justice.
Çakrri, who later changed his surname to Hoxha, is a name that "returns" from the past, more specifically as one of the eyewitnesses to the sensational event of 1998, when former Democratic Party MP Azem Hajdari was murdered. He testified in what was called the "trial of the century", but his path has never been far from problems with the law.
In 2017, he was arrested on charges of "fraud with serious consequences" after embezzling 4.4 million lek from a businessman from Vlora by posing as a merchant.
Police sources indicate that Çakrri closely followed the movements of the victim, Renis Dobra. Immediately after the execution, he left Albania, where he is suspected of having crossed the border through the Morina checkpoint.
Meanwhile, his nephew has been detained by police and, according to reports, important evidence has been found on his cellphone that could help in fully unraveling this serious incident.
