The Cerrik police have arrested 55-year-old Kastriot Omeri, after a complaint was filed against him for domestic violence.

It was reported that Omer is suspected of having exercised physical and psychological violence against his ex-wife, citizen Anita Toska, 51 years old.

The incident occurred this afternoon in the courtyard of the apartment where the victim lives in neighborhood number 2 of the city.

The violence is suspected to have been committed for weak motives, and immediately after the complaint, a protection order was issued in favor of the woman.

The police have taken immediate measures to arrest the perpetrator and are continuing investigations to fully uncover the incident.

Police authorities urge citizens to report any form of violence, guaranteeing that cases will be treated with the seriousness and urgency they require.
