It still remains a mystery how Altin Ndoci was able to leave the infectious disease room, a special environment for convicts who go for medical help at the Durrës hospital.
After leaving the hospital premises, the 39-year-old was confronted by two police officers, whom he bumped into and pushed.
He then ran towards the parking lot, where a white Audi car was waiting for him, in which he drove away.
Meanwhile, footage has emerged of Altin Ndoci, a suspect in murder and a criminal group, being brought to the prison hospital with his hands free, without handcuffs, and walking freely and unmolested among the police. The latter were following him unharmed.
The entire chain of command of Durrës prison has been suspended over Ndoc's escape. Among them are the prison director, Indrit Cerloj, the police chief, and other officials.
The medical staff and officers who accompanied Ndoc have also been suspended.
Ndoci is a well-known criminal figure, accused of a number of serious criminal offenses.
