SPAK Operation
They are accused of defrauding Italian and European citizens of investments in cryptocurrencies in two premises on the ninth and 13th floors of a building in the center of Tirana, opposite the Orthodox Cathedral.
It was the journalists of the Italian investigative show "Le Iene" who submitted materials from their work to SPAK that helped uncover this activity.
According to SPAK's announcement, the work was well-organized with separate work stations, defined roles and staff operating in Italian, French, Spanish and German. The organizers of this criminal activity had set up a sophisticated security structure, using not only cameras, but also surveillance personnel, outside this center at the "Atti Tower".
For two days in a row, SPAK tracked down the organizers of the fraudulent activity in the center of the capital, as they moved premises to avoid being caught.
"On the evening of January 15, members of this surveillance staff notified the owners of the Center of a possible intrusion and on January 16, in the early hours of the morning, the equipment was removed and the Call Center premises were also emptied. Through quick verifications, the persons and vehicles used to remove computer equipment and systems from the Call Center were identified. After tracking them, in a short time, several citizens were caught red-handed, who had transported materials during the night to another rented premises," SPAK announced on January 18.
On the fifth floor of another building in the center of Tirana, another call center under construction was discovered.
Computer equipment, phones, hard drives, laptops, SIM cards, documents, and notepads were found there. The people caught red-handed were transporting a trash can, inside which were items from the other call center, which they were destroying.
By order of SPAK, 28 premises were searched, including apartments, vehicles, offices and garages, in which computers, security cameras, a computer network system, servers, and various vehicles were seized.
