Criminalistics expert Ervin Karamuço spoke about the case of Lear Kurtin, who died a few weeks ago after being escorted to the police station. According to the final examination, which came out a few days ago, it is said that he died from an overdose.
However, according to Karamuço, the institutions' statements have low credibility. The expert added, among other things, that the police face two responsibilities that are being investigated by the Prosecutor's Office, which are the arbitrary actions and the failure to provide help when he lost consciousness.
"The media have released the official medical-legal, toxicological report, when according to them it is proven that the presence of drugs in the body has caused ischemia and cardiac arrest. If we refer to what we discussed, the cameras we saw, the information that came to us at the time and the press statements of the institutions, there is a low dose of credibility.
They are superimposed in some light shadows including here and the forensic medicine because there is a statement that there are no signs of violence while the photo shows that there is a large hematoma. That initial pronouncement has compromised the credibility of that institution and this analysis does not absolve the police of responsibility for arbitration actions.
The AMP driver should bring out the cameras. Second, if there is a family right that they can exercise, it is that of re-inspection. If there are doubts, it is their right. The police cannot be discharged from the other responsibility of not providing help, " Karamuço said on the "Log" show.
