The head of the Journalists' Association of Albania (AGSH), Isa Myzyraj , has opposed the new regulation of the Court of Cassation and Justice, which according to journalists limits the access and work of the media at the court.

In a media appearance, Myzyraj stated that journalists' organizations have united against the new measures, describing the situation as a "dangerous distance between the court and journalists."

According to him, the inclusion of the media in the court's security regulations is an unprecedented act and violates the privacy of the media sector.

He emphasized that other institutions, including Parliament, have separate rules for the media and that, in his opinion, rules for the mass media cannot be included in the court's security regulations.

Myzyraj also said that AGSH has been in constant communication with European organizations since the beginning of August and that they have been informed about the situation.

"We are together and we are against the measures. Dangerous distance between the court and journalists. Even the inclusion of the media in the security regulation is an unprecedented act. The media is a separate sector. Each sector, like the parliament or other institutions, has its own media regulation. The mass media regulation cannot be included in the security regulation. We have been in constant communication since the beginning of August with all EU organizations, we have informed them and we are all waiting. For the sake of truth, we thought that there would be a reflection, but nothing has happened. We will wait in the coming hours and days for a joint decision on how we will approach the closure of the courts," he said.
